Safari Room’s cover EP will be released on February 21st, 2025. This record is comprised of four tracks that are near and dear to Safari Room’s central member, Alec Koukol.
Each cover either reimagines or puts a Safari-Room-spin on the songs. Whether it’s turning the Mountain Goats’ classic song “The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton” into a garage rock anthem, lacquering The Last Shadow Puppets’ “Sweet Dreams, TN” with more schmaltz and rock, or turning up the volume and angst of Frightened Rabbit’s “Head Rolls Off,” further emphasizing it’s pleading and heartfelt nature, this EP pays homage to four great tracks with a new rendition of each. This EP precedes a year of new music for Safari Room, with more songs releasing in the Spring and Fall of 2025.
ABOUT SAFARI ROOM
Safari Room (indie rock collective from Nashville, TN) is an emotive and atmospheric music experience. Combining introspective songwriting with lush instrumentation, Safari Room’s music is both dreamy and raw. Safari Room draws on influences from alternative rock, indie pop, and post-rock, often exploring themes of mental health, personal growth, and relationships.
With three studio albums, two EPs and two live albums under the outfit’s belt, Safari Room has garnered a dedicated following for their immersive live performances and their ability to craft songs that resonate on a personal level. Safari Room’s sound is characterized by sweeping guitars, dynamic arrangements, and Koukol’s evocative vocals, all coming together to create a unique and reflective listening experience. Safari Room’s cover ep is a showcase of Koukol’s arrangement abilities and musical sentiments put forth.
